I am writing this review because I was the one who had to fight for any kind of resolution, and future buyers deserve to know what we went through. Week 1 — Kia Connect issues: Within the first week, we experienced issues with Kia Connect and had to return to the dealership. The sales manager and finance representative were dismissive and came across as rude. Our sales rep was kind and helped us get it working. But the fact that we were back in the dealership within a week of purchase was already a red flag. May 9th — Door handle falls apart: Less than two weeks after purchase, my husband closed the driver's side door and a piece of the door handle came off in his hand. On a brand new vehicle. He didn't report it because he didn't want to deal with the poor customer service again. That alone should tell you something. May 21st — Rodent infestation discovered: We began noticing a horrible odor coming through the air vents. It escalated quickly — we were gagging, nauseous, and wearing medical masks inside our own car. The smell was so strong it transferred to our clothing. We spent approximately $80 out of pocket on odor treatments and carpet cleaning. After investigating with an endoscope, we found sunflower seed shells, food crumbs, and live maggots inside the vehicle. We also found a plastic trim panel near the passenger-side windshield with a hole that had clearly been chewed through by a rodent. Based on everything we found — the nesting debris, the maggots, the gnawed trim — this animal was in the car before we purchased it. The vehicle was not properly inspected before being sold. I have photos documenting all of it. The dealership's response: After several days of texting the sales rep (who was responsive and genuinely tried to help within her limits), we were informed that the dealership would need to charge us to locate the source of the smell. We were not at fault. We have photographic evidence this predates our ownership. We are in the middle of an out-of-state relocation with a tight budget. And they wanted to bill us. Kia markets a 10-year warranty as a selling point. But when a customer reports a broken door handle, a rodent infestation with maggots, and chewed trim — all within 30 days of purchase — and the response is to charge them? That warranty means nothing if the dealership won't stand behind the basics. My husband is now stuck in a lease on a car he has no confidence in and deeply regrets. He trusted the process. He was let down. My advice: Research the dealership thoroughly before you buy. Inspect the car inside and out — including areas you'd never think to check. Ask questions and get answers in writing. Because once you drive off that lot, you may find yourself on your own.

From the beginning, my experience was difficult. My service advisor, Michael Tatum, was dismissive of my concerns and gave me a hard time when I initially brought my vehicle in. I repeatedly reported abnormal suspension noises, but I was told multiple times that the sounds were “normal,” and there was reluctance to properly address the issue. Eventually, repairs were approved under my warranty, and I was informed that multiple components including the front and rear struts, control arms, and a motor mount had been replaced. However, after continuing to experience the same issues, I took my vehicle to another Kia dealership for a second opinion. At Kia of DTLA, a third diagnostic confirmed that the parts that were supposedly replaced did not appear to have been changed. At that point, I returned to Kia of Cerritos and spoke personally with Eli the service manager. After reviewing my concerns, he arranged for my vehicle to be towed back to the dealership for further investigation. Due to the inconsistency between what was billed under warranty and what was actually performed, this situation raises very serious concerns about the integrity of the work completed. I have already reported this matter to Kia America corporate as well as the California Bureau of Automotive Repair for further investigation. If this happened to me, it is highly likely that other customers may be experiencing similar issues, and I believe this warrants a thorough internal review of service practices at this location.

Today service manger Eli was rude want to change close to $ 900 to diagnose Engine light, air bag light, and gas light??? I was told 8 months ago when they changed the engine that there was a 1 year warranty, along with the extended 150,000 mile or 15 year from Kia because of all the issues they have had with the engine. I wish I never bought a Kia they look nice, but everything is cheap. I have a 2011 chevy Equinox with over 200,000 with less issues then kia.

Stay away from this (KIA Cerritos) Dealer! I have purchase a Kia Sportage 2023 with 0 miles on it and the first problem that i have find out is the car have problem on the air ventilation system (bad odor coming from it) I did let the service staff about it and let the car on service for 24hs they just put some cleanner deodorant on the system and say it was resolved, but that just did work for a couple of days and back to the same, I did let the staff know and they say it was nothing they can do about it. Second problem came with the front brakes they start shaking bad, i took the car to the dealer with approx. 12K miles on it let the car there for what they say 2 days; a week 1/2 pass no calls from them, i did call the service personel and they told me that my car was ready a couple of day ago (again call them for updates because they wont). On Dicember 15th 2025 approx. the car has 24K miles approx. and it start making bad noise on the front of it i decide to take the car to the dealer on Dicember 29th and got received for a service person with lack of manners (Gerardo) I did explain the problem and left it there a week later I did call Gerardo to find out what was happenning (because they dont call you) and he said that the car was not checked yet because they were busy. Couple of days pass and they told me it was a problem with the timing belt that they will take care if it but have to order the parts and it was in backstock so i have to wait. on January 19th approx. after I call them NO answer, let them a message, a new person from kia (eddie) left me a text saying they receive the parts of my car and hopefully will be ready Friday the 23rd (January 2025), Friday came and pass and nothing I decide to call them January 26th and got received by a a person with bad manners, rude (Elizabeth) I did ask to please give me the contact information from the manager and she just decide in the middle of the conversation to transfer my call to service departament witch of course didnt answer and just let me leave a voice message, then minutes later a nice lady from Kia cerritos contact me and did told me that eddie kia's service staff will contact me; Today January 27th eddie did left a text message saying they are working on the car and they are waiting for one part and car will be ready this Friday 30th 2026 ( "to be continued"). At this time just got to the conclusion of this is my first and LAST car that i would buy from KIA.

We first bought my brother’s Kia Niro in December 2022. Part of the deal that justified the high price was a 3-year maintenance package covering routine service like oil changes, tire rotations, and labor. Everything was fine for the first couple years. Every visit was routine and fully covered. Then came our most recent service. My brother finished his appointment, got his keys, and left. After he had already driven off, an employee called and said he needed to come back and pay for the service. This made zero sense: 1. We have the maintenance package, and 2. Why release the car and keys if payment was supposedly required? They were rude, dismissive, and acted like the package didn’t exist, even though we have both digital and physical copies. My mom went to the dealership in person and waited for a manager, only to be told we now had to pay because of “new ownership.” According to them, the new owner simply does not care about honoring previous agreements. Since when does a change in ownership void a signed package that customers paid for? If that is their logic, should people stop paying off the cars they financed under the old ownership too? The manager and employees kept pressuring my mom, insisting the only option was to pay despite us showing every receipt and document proving the package. Their entire justification was: “New owner. Not honoring it.” So she paid. And yes, our package would have expired in December anyway. But that is not the point. This was a blatant refusal to honor a contract they sold and marketed. I am sharing this to warn anyone considering buying or servicing a car here under this new mediocre ownership and management. Dealerships already have a reputation, but refusing to honor your own agreements because leadership changed is a new low. It says everything about the direction Kia of Cerritos is headed.

I purchased a Kia Telluride through this dealership and continued to come here for all of my service dealing with service advisor Victor Chen who really took care of us getting us in and out as a waiter. I called over a week ago looking to come in for service and I was told that he no longer is with this dealership he had left and went to Mazda. After asking for several other service advisors I was told they also all left along with several mechanics and sales staff. I’m like what happened and I was told it has new ownership and everything was changed around which the employees did not like so they left this dealership. I don’t know why you can’t leave well enough alone because it was a great dealership. I left several messages for Nick and other service technicians to call me back about an issue with the Kia Telluride not one person returned my phone call or informed me about it TSB technical service bulletin on this vehicle with self leveling suspension and shock noise rattle etc.. After I made some phone calls I found out that most of my service advisors and service technicians are now out at Citrus Motors Kia of Ontario so I went out there. It was like old home week they got me in and got me out without any delay and we’re extremely knowledgeable on the issues that I was having. I hope Kia Cerritos can get it together because my experience under the new ownership trying to get hold of somebody that knew something and call me back was absolutely impossible after a full day. I would like management to know what a great example of how a "Service Advisor" is supposed to do his job. I unfortunately had to have an engine replaced for burning oil. Micheal Tatum is who I'm talking about. He explained to me the entire process an assisted me every step of the way. We even spoke on his off day. BLUF: Poor Service and Follow up process at Kia Cerritos. I leased a 2025 Telluride on 4/18/25. The sales rep was helpful, but the car was delivered with a missing rear wiper and not fully cleaned. He promised it would be taken care of, but later I found he no longer worked there. The service team had no communication, and I had to follow up multiple times with service rep (Shauna). Despite the appointment clearly stating the need to replace missing parts, the service rep was unhelpful and showed no urgency of professionalism. The issue was eventually addressed, and Shauna apologized the delay of the process. However, the car was still not cleaned as promised. I really hope Kia Cerritos can provide better customer care when I arrive there. Anyway, there was no follow up or survey was ever sent. Based on speaking friends, this seems to be a recurring issue tied to poor management. Disappointing experience overall.

An alignment was done on my last visit at this establishment. My car is shaking at a certain speed and this started to happen right after I took my car out. An order for a plastic part for my car was placed by this KIA dealership. But I never received an update when I could show up and take it.

Sales person Sergio Arias was very tricky. He assured me he was giving me the out the door price. I asked twice if the total amount included fees and tax and he said "yeah it's there" when it truly was not. I found out the real out the door price when I was looking at the contract with the finance person, who was rushing through the process by the way.

Service here is a joke. The amount of time wasted here was just ridiculous. EPB and Auto Hold lights were illuminated and my OBD2 code scanner showed C1360-81, C1652-08, and C2416-01, indicating an electrical failure of the EPB system on the driver side. We came in on March 2 to get our car looked at because it's a certified pre-owned car and it should fall under warranty. Service advisor Randall promised us 3-5 days for the diagnostic service to confirm whether or not it's under warranty, and that Kia Corporate only (partially) reimburses for rentals if the repair is under warranty. We rented a car nearby out of our own pocket for the 5 days, confident in the service advisor's estimate. We did not hear back until day 8, despite us calling and leaving voicemails. We finally got an update and they said they were working on it. They claimed it was fixed by repairing the short on the driver's side wiring harness. Fair enough. We drive it away, happy that it is supposedly fixed. Less than a week later, the EPB and Auto Hold lights are back on, along with the same exact codes. I slid under the car where the wiring harness for the driver side EPB actuator is located to double check if anything was even done to it, but it still looked original (still dusty and had markings from the factory). So that makes me question if they even did anything the first time around??? They probably just cleared the codes and called it a day. We negotiated a day to drop it off again, March 16th. This was confirmed through text by our service advisor as being okay. When we made the trip over that day, it turned out the service department was closed that day. Didn't even bother to notify us.

Was extremely disappointed w/ the service from their Service department, was greeted by Eddie Chavez who seemed bothered with my wife’s presence and kept insisting for her to buy the most expensive package. After we repeatedly told him “we were okay, with just a regular oil change and tire rotation. After 4 long hours, our car was returned with a small crack in the front window. Shawn lebs the service director took down our info with an aggressive attitude. Seemed as if we were bothering him. Seems as customer service doesn’t exist in this place of business. The time to get the car dropped off was minimal considering the volume of other customers. The service order was quickly written up and the ride home was free. The service was completed faster than estimated. Overall a very satisfying experience.

My pregnant wife and I went in to replace her passenger side mirror. Was quoted over $700 by Winn at the service department. He told us atr the latest it will be done by 4:30PM. 5:00pm went by and no call from Kia. We called and they said it will be done by the time the service department closed which is at 6:00PM. Unapologetically, the service department said we can come and wait for the vehicle to be finished since it will be done today. In the beginning we had asked Winn to replaced the hub cap for the new side mirror with our current one. It was black. Now we have a tan one and our previous black one is no where to be found . We notified the service department that we are not satisfied with the service provided and they offered to take out the labor from our service. When my wife paid, the labor and parts were the same. Unacceptabale. When we came to pick up her car they said it's going to be another 30 min since all of the techs are busy. In that case we went around the lot to view our options for a trade for a new car since our family is growing by 1. The american with dark skin guy named James (Not sure if that is his real name) said he will show us a couple of vehicles and will grab the keys. He never came back. 45 minutes went by so i went to the manager. He said I smelled like alcohol so no one will show me any vehicles. I told him that is absurd. If I did smell like alcohol, ( which I did not) do not leave my pregenant wife and myself waiting. Poor customer service on their part and very inconsiderate.
